Human shaped nuggets is a look into a possible future. Humans and dinosaurs are separated
by millions of years, but their descendants are still here. Birds such as chickens descended from
the same theropod lineage that also gave rise to T. rex. Once rulers of this planet, their
descendants now occupy the opposite end of the food chain—processed in factories and turned
into dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets.
Though we, as modern humans, haven’t been around for even one million years, we claim Earth
as our dominion. We have shaped it to suit our needs, but it can all be taken away. The scales
of power have tipped many times throughout Earth’s history, and there is no guarantee they will
not tip again, whether through another mass extinction event, disease, or our own doing.
Evolution could once again reshape the flora and fauna that surround us.
Ferns, sharks, bees, and crocodiles witnessed the rise of humanity, and they could also witness
its fall. Our cities, reclaimed by nature and slowly eroded, could become hunting grounds for
new species. And this time, we are not the ones wearing the apex crown.
Is humanity’s place at the top of the food chain permanent—or simply another chapter in Earth’s
history? We will never know who will sit on that throne in another 65 million years.
