Crash

80 x 40 cm. Oil, canvas. 2023.

„Crash“ is a painting based on digital progress and its consequences. The anxieties, fears, inadequacies and inability to express oneself in social situations caused by a fast-paced lifestyle. In the age of the internet and surveillance, various areas of life have become very convenient, yet controlled, setting the pace and making life even faster. In my work, I identify the phenomenon of speed by using the concept of a crash to express various images of perceived anxiety. It was this painting that came about after seeing the horrific exhibits of unborn babies and embryos at the Anatomy Museum. In this work, I depict a museum exhibit – the face of a baby soaking in a preparation whose mother died in an accident. The aggressive moment of impact itself is destructive, lasting for a moment, but liberating. The collision releases and heals.
