The composition of the painting is comprised of multiple images within the canvas. The images are from Ingrida’s personal archives and used as a canon of painting from photograph as a methodology. The images translated into painting medium with heavy use of colour overlays creates the disconnection and reflects on the subject of displacement. With the painting Ingrida is articulating the impossibility of home, condition of migration.
Through these narratives Ingrida is feverishly looking for familiarity in different environments. Through transition in time and different places, different ‘homes’ she blurs the lines of the past and create fictional story lines connecting different memories and places to create stories where alter ego can exist.
